New Larchwood Christmas celebration

Nicola Benge, Project Coordinator for Portslade WRVS organised a Christmas party for the participants of the Heritage Plus Tarner project and the Heritage Plus New Larchwood projects, which took place from October 2007 through to January 2008. The event took place from 1.30-5pm at the New Larchwood Centre in Coldean on 19th Dec for music, quizzes, singing and food.

The band Pavarotty entertained everyone by singing golden oldies, Rod Patterson, award winning WRVS volunteer wrote a history quiz with prizes and Adrian Lovejoy made amazing cakes for afternoon tea. This proved popular and everyone enjoyed themselves!

Partcipants said : 'Thanks so much for the Christmas event. It was lovely. The food and the music were fabulous!' Margaret C.

'What a lovely afternoon, thank you so much for organising it.' Peggy Goble

"I have been immensely impressed with the support I have received at New Larchwood from the WRVS with our Coldean Local History group who had begun to lose confidence a little during late summer 2007 but have now become rejuvenated and ready for a very positive 2008 thanks to the project's input. It has been just brilliant. I'm really impressed with the artwork (Memory quilt) completed, they really got stuck in, and I can't praise the WRVS highly enough" Steve Andrews, New Larchwood Activities Coordinator
