Photographs from the 'Portslade Portraits' launch

Heritage Plus creative writing and reminiscence book is published
By Nicola Benge

These photos are taken from the launch of WRVS Heritage Plus Portslade's new book of reminiscence and creative writing portslade portraits which took place at Portslade WRVS on the 4th of December, 2008.

Contributors from the local community read extracts from the book, and the Brighton and Hove Mayor Garry Peltzer Dunn got everyone reminiscing about life in the black and white days. Following an afternoon tea, local historian Trevor Povey spoke about growing up in Portslade, and we were even treated to the sight of Don Fathers jiving with his dance partner Annie which was a sight for sore eyes!

The book was created by WRVS Heritage Plus participants with Vanessa Gebbie, collated by project co-ordinator Nicola Benge and supported through the National Lottery Fund.
