A Visit to the Land Girls Exhibition
Heritage Plus Crawley organise a trip to Brighton Museum
By Domenico Trillo
A visit was made to the Brighton Museum and Art Gallery by members of one of the Crawley Heritage Plus Groups who had just completed an activity entitled 'Schooldays'.
Thursday 21st January was a cold but beautifully sunny winter's morning and the group travelled down by minibus. They were accompanied by the Heritage Plus Co-ordinator for Crawley Elizabeth Masson along with volunteers for the project Sheila Cox and Joy Daly, and were met by the Textile Artist Sandrine Case who ran the most recent activity.
Of particular interest was the Land Girls 'Cinderellas of the Soil' Exhibition, as some of the group knew of friends and relatives who had themselves been in the Land Army! After lunch the group visited the rest of the exhibition before leaving for Crawley in the late afternoon. A good time was had by all.
